Big Las Vegas Casino Name to Add Longtime Public Servant to Board
Author: Chris // Category: Las Vegas CasinosThe newest nominee for the board of directors MGM Mirage, Bill Bible, has biblical knowledge of the casino and casino resort industry. (All right, now that the bad pun is out of the way we can get to business.) It is true, though, Bill Bible has been involved in the casino industry and the Nevada state government for over 30 years. He began his service in the 1970’s by serving with the Mike O’Callaghan administration. He then held several budgetary positions while Governor Richard Bryan. He learned the ins and outs of how casino enterprises and state governments work while spending ten years with the Nevada Gaming Control Board as its chairman. He has held positions on review boards most notably being appointed by President Bill Clinton to the National Gambling Impact Study Commission. Since then he has successfully served as president of the somewhat faded Nevada Resort Association, a lobbying group for the casino and casino resort industry.
Now he is leaving a tenured career as a public servant to hopefully serve on the board of one of the most recognizable casino names in Las Vegas History. MGM Mirage owns and operated such famous and ground breaking casino hotel properties such as Bellagio, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, New York-New York, Circus Circus , the newly opened CityCenter, and of course the Mirage. MGM Mirage is known for having some of the biggest, if not the biggest casino resorts in Las Vegas.
Chief Executive Officer for MGM Mirage, Jim Murren likes Bible’s expansive knowledge of the casino industry and his unique insight having served for so long with the government, especially budget aspects. “Bill’s wealth of expertise and familiarity with a wide range of financial and regulatory matters in both hospitality and gaming will serve as a tremendous asset to our company,” stated Murren.
After a lifetime of service not only to the casino and casino resort industry, but to the tax paying citizens of the state of Nevada, Bill Bible has earned the right enjoy private life.
