European Casinos Are Keeping An Eye on the US.

Since the bans on gambling began in 2007 in the United States, foreign online casinos have shifted out of the US, and pulled themselves out of the US stock market. Now after 100 days in office, the presidential changeover is starting to settle in.

This has inspired the European companies to begin to look once again toward the United States for online casino gambling. The governments of these companies are also realizing the benefits of taxing online casino gambling.

“There’s still a lot of gambling going on, where there’s no revenue coming in to the governments,” said Gavin Kelleher, an analyst at the research firm H2 Gambling Capital. “They realize they could use the revenue.”

Barney Frank has been diligently working on an appeal on the ban of online casino gambling, and is looking towards introducing legislation that would take away the ban within the upcoming weeks. “He supports the repeal and wants to move forward on it,” said Steve Adamske, communications director for the House Financial Services Committee, of which Mr. Frank is chairman.

“I’d be amazed if it didn’t happen over the next two or three years,” said Clive Hawkswood, chief executive of the Remote Gambling Association, a trade group based in London. “It’s just a question of what exactly the regulations will say.”

Michele Combs of the Christian Coalition will outspokenly decline the appeal as they feel that it has the potential to wreck the home-life of US families. “We’re not saying people shouldn’t go to Las Vegas,” she said. “But when it’s in your home, it’s too easy. It breaks up families.”

“There’s a better chance now for some sort of gaming legislation to be approved,” said Nick Batram, an analyst at KBC Peel Hunt “But it took longer than expected to put anti-gaming legislation in place, and it will probably will take longer than expected to remove it.”
