Las Vegas casinos have struggled along with other businesses throughout the tough economy and now they’re trying to reinvent themselves through marketing and advertising and by possibly bringing back the old slogans that made the city popular. The phrase “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas”became a pop-culture line used by kids and adults all around the world. This catchy phrase allowed its users to apply to many situations that need not be spoken of the others.
As the difficult times hit the Las Vegas casinos and hotels, they tried to be sensitive to the situation but still address tourists and try to draw them back to the casinos. New phrases such as “Vegas right now”and “crazy times call for crazy fun”became some of the slogans that recognized the difficult times as well as trying to draw people back.
Since the slogan worked so well the first time and encourage people to join the city lights and entertainment of the casinos as their tourist destination, Las Vegas once again is dusting off the old slogan and placing it back into the advertising campaign.
With movies such as The Hangover, centered around a group of guys who went to Las Vegas for a bachelor party, Las Vegas is once again being looked at is the place to go to party, gamble and have fun.
The Las Vegas Logan of ”what happens in Vegas…” was a bold statement at the time but true in tourists to a more raw side of the Las Vegas strip casinos. It brought about endless ideas of wacky and crazy times that can be had in Las Vegas. This slogan went in a completely different direction than its previous advertising campaigns.
Years ago Las Vegas marketing consisted of advertising that they were casinos in the area. These casinos along with hotels gave gamblers and tourists a place to go for gambling entertainment and a place to stay.
